The Perfect Home Cleaning Of Blood Stains On Carpets

The Problem – Blood on Fibres

Having kids can become a really tough assignment sometimes. You know how kids behave – they always play with something, make dirt, make stains, throw food everywhere etc. Throughout the years, I have found little tricks on how to cope with the menace they manage to make around the house.

As they are just kids, it usually happens for them to fall somewhere while they are playing and injure themselves. They can also fall from furniture in the house and, for example, have a nosebleed. The result – was blood stains on the carpet. Not pleasant, especially to clean, huh?

How To Remove Blood Stains From Carpet

Step One

If the stain is still wet, make a solution of one tablespoon of liquid hand dishwashing detergent and two cups of cold water. If it’s dry, try brushing it to remove the deposit on the surface.

Stain Removal Step Two

Then just use a clean white cloth/sponge soaked in the solution you made and treat the stain/s. You should really blot until the spot is gone. If it doesn’t disappear with the first blotting, try repeating the same action until it’s gone.

Alternative Solutions

Another way of dealing with this kind of stain is using a solution of one tablespoon of ammonia and half a cup of warm water. (NB! Don’t ever combine ammonia and bleach – the result is toxic and dangerous!). Then sponge on the stain with this solution and blot it until it disappears. Then try sponging it with cold water and make it blot dry.

If the spot you want to treat is already dry and brown, you can try one more method. Make a solution with 1 part vinegar and 2 parts water and apply it to the area you want. Then blot it until it dries. This action can be repeated only once. If the stain persists, try other methods.

Be Careful with Supermarket “Miracle” Carpet Cleaning Products

So this was my advice on cleaning blood stains with home materials. Sometimes it’s urgent, and such stains can’t wait for you to go to the shop and choose and buy a detergent – they will get dry and will get definitely be harder to clean.
